Any idea yet?
Click here, buy and install the DVD, and then run the 10.6.8 combo updater.
Mac OS X 10.6 requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM.

If you can tell us more about your computer, we may be able to come up with an answer in 1 minute.
I'm clueless about what info. to give. I just want to run my itunes as I connect to my phone. I updated my iphone 4 to the latest version but when I plugged it into my comp. it was not allowing to connect because my computer itself did not have the "latest" update. Whent I tried to update it it said "there were no current updates".
Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the CPU type and amount of RAM against the requirements for Snow Leopard posted above.

The most recent version of iTunes requires that you have OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed on your Mac. As Niel has pointed out, you need to buy Snow Leopard from Apple. Niel has linked to the information to buy the DVD.
After you install Snow Leopard from the DVD you buy from Apple, you must update it to verion 10.6.8 using the update combo;

After you have completed that upgrade to Snow, you can update iTunes;
Ok, so I buy the DVD, install, then update itunes and then it should run freely?
Yes, iTunes should run fine.
Hi Niel, I looked up the about this mac, I saw it has 2gb of memory, I don't see Ram info or CPU to ***** if it will have the availability.
Great. I will try this. Thanks for your patience and reply.
RAM is the memory and you said that your Mac has 2 GB, that is sufficient.
As far as the CPU, that would be the Processor listed. Hopefully it states that it is an Intel and not a PowerPC.
It says intel Core 2 duo? Sounds like I'll be good to go right?
That should work spendidly.
Again, I appreciate your help. I hate computers!!!:)
I love Macs. Next month makes 29 years since I bought my first one while in grad school (SMU) in the USA.
