New photo filter effects lost when importing to iPhoto?

For now filters are only vieable on an IOS 7 device - I believe that if you add tehm to a shared PhotoStream they will be visable on your mac

It will require an update to iPhoto not the OS.

There are still glitches because some 3rd party apps (like Google+ and Snapseed) will not see the filtered version. Facebook and Flickr do see it and I think that Instagram does also.

Only solution is to set up a Shared Photostream (which Aperture and iPhoto on a Mac can then share and see the filtered version also) and then from the Shared Photostream, save the photo back to your Camera Roll. Then all apps should see the filtered version.

Ahhh really frustrated. I am an avid iphone photographer and on a really amazing trip used the new iPhone filters. I took over 1000+ photos, just downloaded them on my MacBook and set the import to erase all photos on my iphone. I just discovered that none of the filtered photos transfered over.

Is there anyway that the newly importanted photos on my MacBook has a record of the filters or anyway to get the filtered photos back? Thanks so much.

just realised the latest iphoto for mac (9.5) supports the filters.

preview and finder don't seem to 'see' the filters (which i believe are recorded in the file data), but if you update iphoto to this latest version, iphoto will detect and display the filter as an overlay, the same as it appears on your iphone.

Try to import with the latest version of iOS and iPhoto, the filter will not be shown at the time of import, but will be applied at the photo after that. Take a look. discussions.apple.com/message/23791622#23791622

Yep, as others have said above, thankfully I had all my photos going to "My Photostream" (under 'albums' in your iPhone Camera App) which I then saved back into the camera roll and imported them to my computer (iPhoto) from there – you then have double ups – ones with and ones without the filter. A bit of a pain but thankfully I only set that feature up just recently otherwise I wouldn't have any of them ... if it wasn't for my brother, I wouldn't have known about it.

I think that after two years it is already safe to say that there is no official solution by Apple for this problem.

There is an official solution by Apple: iCloud Library, Photos app on iOS and on the Mac.Check them out, they're all free, unlike your app...

As far as we know they all show the filter effect on screen but not saving it with the image itself, resulting a limbo state for the users - sometimes showing the effect and sometimes not, depending on the platform/software/app.

Yes, it is our app, and yes - it is a better solution than using iCloud Photo Library which does not present an easy way to flatten the filter effects to the image.

Read the terms of use for the forum. And like I say, iCloud Photo Library offers what your app does, for free. Profanity and argument may not help your marketing drive.
