Q: My email shows 7000 unread emails but I don't have any to read

Just updated to iOS 7 last week. Today I had 300 emails that I had already deleted show back up in my inbox. After deleting them my mail app shows over 7000 unread emails but none are there. Need help

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.2

Reset the device:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
