I'm just wondering. I've been charging my iPhone over night for like 2 weeks and I was just wondering if that harms the battery. Also, should I use the battery fully until it drains to zero, or plug it in before it discharges? Thanks.

I charged my 3GS overnight and do so with my ip5. Never had a problem. Charing initially is fast then slows down when it approaches full charge and then it just cuts in and out sort of like trickle charge.
You cannot Overcharge the iPhone... Not necessary to fully Discharge the battery... You can charge it whenever is convenient for you.

the iphone battery designed in a way that you can plug in and charge any time even for a short while. but it is not good to charge over night( leave it plugged in after fully charged), this will reduce the battery life. it is advised to disharge once a month to below 20% and charge it to 100%. these tips are given by apps like battery doctor. you can download them in the app store.
