which Iphone 5S model will work in both USA and Israel on LTE?

Which IPhone 5S work in both USA and Israel with LTE? Is it the European or American model? GSM or CDMA?

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

This is no longer true, as Orange started an LTE 4G network recently.

However I'm not sure which channel it's on, and Apple hasn't updated their list accordingly.

According to the Hebrew wikipedia page on LTE, it could either be channels 3 or 7. However as the other carriers build their networks we'll see that it could be possible that some people will be locked to a 4G-LTE carrier, which can be avoided when the chip can have all of the LTE bands as we saw with the GSM.

The issue is what channels would be used varries by nation to nation. Since I have very limited access to Jordan and Egypt it really doesn't matter to the average Israeli company what will work there. There is currently Orange's LTE in Israel which I read/hear conflicting information as to which LTE bands are being used. Further then there is a new LTE slighted from Cellcom/Golan/Pelephone that I'm curious to see what bands they will be using. From this information it would be possible to know which is the one to use for LTE.

Realistically it would seem that getting a Verizon/Sprint would be the best route, in that you would have a working set for America, plus foreign bands for Europe and hopefully Israel. Orange already sells the iPhone in Israel, but it doesn't indicate which model it uses.

Since the iPhone in Israel is so much more expensive, it's still cheaper to buy in Israel and get serviced in the USA if need be. But realistically these phones never really have problems that can't be solved so dificultly that I would worry about having to go back to the US. As from my understanding the warranties have to be honored globally. Just as if I have a problem with my computer I don't have to go back to the US to get it fixed.

It doesn't really matter the costs are so askew that there is nothing to worry about. I have an American iPhone 4S, no issues here etc. I'm not shaking in my boots that I can get any repair needed unauthorized with my consumer protections here etc. So the warranty boogie man isn't a real scare.

Meanwhile nobody is actually discussing the actual topic at hand, what the LTE bands are for Israel.

Just read up and did a lot of digging....

The Israeli army is in the process of switching out of the bands that will be used for LTE (it looks like they were already using it 😁) As from what I found out Israel will be using the bands 1, 3, and 7. All carriers have to allow interoperability. So in this case pretty much any iPhone will be working on LTE. But having the 7 band is the best since it's the fastest.

It happens all over the world. Israeli Army would be using it for Military Purposes, not necessarily LTE.

Also in such a case (Israel adopting bands 1,3 and/or 7 for LTE), Apple would be selling in Israel iPhone 5S Model A1457. This model is not sold in USA.

OP's decision making becomes more complicated.
