Sept 30 2013. Just got apple tv upgrade, started watching a movie, paused it, now it won't resume.  When try to play it, my only choices are to download it again: it says you have already downloaded this , and says go into settings....  Can find settings in apple tv for my television

    what worked for me was signing out of itunes, icloud, and unplugging my apple tv for a minute. The problem was fixed

    Signing out and signing back in works for me...but I don't feel that I should have to do that.


    I have since purchased a $50 Roku 1, and I never have that problem.  The Roku's HD quality is the same, and rentals are always less expensive on the Roku.  (There is FAR more free content on the Roku.)  Plus, I have MANY more channels to choose from.


    My Apple TV is good for displaying my MacBook Air screen on my TV...and that's about it.  Everything else is much easier on the $50 Roku 1.
