Screen to big for display

Question

Hi,

I am stumped with a stange behaviour in one of the user accounts on a 27" iMac.

It appears as if the screen is to big for the display.

So the menu bar doesnt fit on the with of the display. And he dock is also halfway hidden on the bottom of the display.

This problem only occurs in one user account.

I have tested with various screen resolutions (currently set at the highers resolution so it should fit.)

Unchecked all the additional functions of the Mighty mouse.

Rebooted the unit, Reset PRAM etc.

Deleted many .plists related to screen, display etc.

Any pointers are greatly approciated!

You may have inadvertently activated zooming with your mouse scroll wheel.

To turn off Zoom use these three keypresses, Option + Command + 8

Thanks for the tip but I had already checked that.

The Zoom funktion zooms way more in that what I see in this user acocunt.

In my situration the behaviour apprears to be similar but that like only 5% zoomed in...

I was reading here of a 'slightly zoomed up screen' and wonder if a part of that article might apply to you,

namely the windowserver.plist in the troublesome user account.
