Jul 12, 2014 11:19 AM in response to telestheticby soy_eliel,Same Problem.
- Siri and dictation did not work on the phone itself but did work with headphones.
- It appeared that neither Siri & dictation could not hear me (the wavy line did not move).
- Lift to ear Siri works.
- Earbud Siri work.
- Bluetooth Siri works.
I will restore the iphone, if it doesn't fix the problem I will take the iphone to an apple store.
I don't know if here in Mexico they will replace it or do I have to go to my mobile company,

May 18, 2015 8:11 AM in response to pweiss0408by tdagraca,Hey ! I hope everyone is doing well. Out of nowhere, I had the same problem happen to my mic. iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3. My phone was in my pocket while i was seating, and sometimes I clean my screen my spraying cleaning solution on it - so the sweat (or cleaning liquid) could have gotten inside the microphone in the earpiece (next to the front facing camera) and disabled it. To test this, try recording a front facing video with sound. If it works, then its not the microphone inside the earpiece. If it's very low, static-like, fuzzy, or not working at all, its the mic. I tried tapping it with my finger to no avail, and then I took my phone, held it normally and tapped it against my thigh a couple times... it WORKED! AT FIRST, it made the sound a little better. Then I did some more taps and it fixed it. I can't tell, however, if the sound now has more "Hiss"/white noise than before, (like in all videos...there is that Hum") but over all it sounds much MUCH better. I believe it is back to normal.
Don't break your phone people!

Sep 8, 2015 3:12 AM in response to MartinRudekby Thailand Amulets, one thing that happened to me was that i have an JBL Onbeat Extreme bluetooth speaker, and even if it is switched off, the ipad connects to it, but no mike or speakers switched on. And so when i try to speak to Siri, it doesnt work because the jbl bluetooth speakers and microphone are both switched off, and even if not, are too far away to her me.
I noticed the problem also because it worked with earpods and not when i took them out. It seems the earpods deactivated the bluetooth connection, but reactivated it when unplugging the earpods again

Oct 5, 2015 11:18 AM in response to pweiss0408by Reepicheep05,Try cleaning the headphone port out. I used a piece of a business card and an alcohol swab I did just that and siri started working again. Make sure not to hit the water indicator with the alcohol lol.
