Q: Regarding the display of items on the calendar: Within a single calender eg work days which display in orange- some items display with a colored bar across the entire day square and other items in the same calendar only display with a colored dot in front

This pertains to iCloud calendar display on my pc. Within a single calendar (eg work calendar which displays in orange) some items within this calendar display with a horizontal orange bar across the square for that day while other items only have an orange dot in front of the item. The dot isn't very obvious-how can Iget the colored bar instead of the dot?
