Thnx a lot for your help. I can now see my iPhone on the network tray (win07). However, it's returning a msg "Limited access" thus I can't open any site.

I've diagnosed the problem on the window by clicking a diagnose button, but no help.

    Pls assist. Thnx

Go to Settings->Cellular->Cellular Data Network->Personal Hotspot

Add your APN settings here also

I was having this problem (iphone 5 wouldn't work as hotspot for my PC laptop) and had tried everything suggested on these message boards, so I finally went to the Apple Genius Bar and they fixed it for me.  Here's what they did:

    1) Turned the Hotspot off on my iphone

    2) Went to the Control Panel on my laptop to "Network and Internet" > "Network and Sharing Center" > "Manage Wireless Networks" (on the left navigation panel) and deleted my iphone from the list of WiFi connections I've attempted.

    3) Flipped the manual WiFi switch on my laptop to Off and then back On again (to reset it)

    4) Turned the Hotspot on my iphone back on

After that, when I tried to connect, it worked.  Hope this works for someone else.

    >>>Go to Settings->Cellular->Cellular Data Network->Personal Hotspot

Under "Settings->Cellular" I have no "Cellular Data Network" option.  I wonder if this is carrier-specific.  I have AT&T.

what you need to do is Delete the network [iphone]  name on the computer by going ionto 'manage wireless connections' and removing the network name.

after which restart the personal hotspot on the device and then search for it opn yuour pc. it should then prompt you to enter the wifi password.

    hope this helps

    Dear

Go to setting > Cellular > Cellulat Data Networl > Set Personal Hotspot APN only

then back to setting > Cellular > TURN OFF your Cellular data then TURN On after few seconds

& now to Cellular > personal hotspot > enable & enjoy

Note if problem remains pls change you Iphone name first and again do the above steps.
