Q: iCloud problems in iPhone

On my iPhone, the Apple ID on the iCloud section in Settings is incorrect and it doesn't let me change it. How do I fix this?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

To change the iCloud account on the phone you need to delete the account currently on it.

Back story... I wrote down the worng Apple ID for the iCloud when I initally set my iphone up and now I can't remove it and have no password for it. When I try and delete the account it says I need to put in the password for it first... don't know it because, again, it's the wrong apple id... I left out a letter :/... any solutions?

I suggest you take it into an Apple Store along with your receipt and asked them if they can help you.

Issue was resolved spontaneously after being on the phone with apple support for about an hour... Basically no one knew the answer becuase deleting wasn't an option without a password... and yet I tried for the 50th time and somehow it let me delete the account without a password which is a bit of a security issue FYI... apple had created this backup email for me, which isn't connected to me... they were not able to explain that either... weird all around, yet resolved. I'm happy.
