Where are there developer working on anything for the PowerPC?
Last time I check I was not able to find any.
When my PowerMac G5 Quad lost a CPU in 2010, I spoke to a friend at the local Apple Store and he told me that Apple had done away with all PPC part over a year ago then. To me that says dead.

Sep 30, 2013 3:43 PM in response to KGDby MichelPM,★HelpfulLast PowerPC Mac made 2005.
8 years later? Clearly dead!
Apple Supported them through OS X 10.5 Leopard through 2007-2008.
That was the end of the line for PowerPC Mac support.

Sep 30, 2013 6:31 PM in response to KGDby BDAqua,★HelpfulHi Mostly gone, but there are a few, (& yes, I still use my PPC Macs for important stuff).
TenFourFox is the most up to date browser for our PPCs, they even have G4 & G5 optimized versions...

SeaMonkey seems pretty fast also, with many options...

SpeedTools Pro 3.7 works on both PPC & IntelMacs amazingly!

Sep 30, 2013 10:08 PM in response to BDAquaby KGD,Thanks... nice to see some support. I understand that these machines are a business, and likely not cost effective for Apple to continue supporting them. Underground movements to do so should emerge.

Sep 30, 2013 10:17 PM in response to KGDby BDAqua,Yeah, since I have no iDevices, nor will I ever, my PPC Macs do everything I need to, in fact without many thousands of $$$ SW upgrades.. they do far more.
Even then, some things I do cannot be done at all on IntelMacs.

Oct 1, 2013 4:13 AM in response to KGDby Klaus1,Not dead, not forgotten, still much loved, but not updateable!
Also, they are officially obsolete:
Vintage and obsolete Apple products:
Obsolete products are those that were discontinued more than seven years ago. Apple has discontinued all hardware service for obsolete products with no exceptions. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products. These include ALL G4 models. On November 23, 2011 all G5 models were declared as 'vintage', and are in fact now also officially obsolete.

Oct 1, 2013 7:23 AM in response to Klaus1by LF54,Good morning Klaus 1
I apologize that this is off topic here but wanted to get you this info. On seach "iMovie HD and Lion" I found solution.
I copied iMovie HD app in the G4 machine app folder and put it directly into the app folder on the Lion MacBook. I can now open the old iMovie HD projects on the Lion MacBook.
I am not sure if I should reload iMovie 9.0.9 on the new machine.
Can you put this info into the proper catagory since it is such a simple solution.
Thanks for your assistance.

I see that there are some software vendors out there still developing.
None of notability. All that remain active are a few utility programs and retro games.

Please list examples.
