Q: IOS7 iPhone emails disappearing, are not delivered

Ever since I upgraded to IOS7 on my iPhone 4, I cannot send email. After I write the email and send it, it disappears. It does not show up in sent mail, and the intended recipient does not receive it. This happens on gmail, yahoo and aol accounts.  I can send and receive email just fine on my PC laptop. But no longer on my IOS7 iPhone. Occasionally the iPhone email is delivered hours later, but that is rare.  I have "rebooted" my iPhone, with no effect. Can I fix this?  Is it my iPhone or is it IOS7?  Can/will Apple fix this?  Anyone else have this problem?  Anyone know what I can do?

Unfortunately, others have reported that just deleting the email account, then re-creating it, worked for a few days, but then it stopped working again.

Joe, we'll see what happens down the road, it was OK for awhile after the iOS7 update, but then started having issues about 10 days later, like most have indicated. So far we seem good after the 7.0.4 update, but that was so irritating to not be able to send email from my phone for nearly 2 weeks.

    Hi,

I'm still getting this problem even after the latest update and still te email search does not work properley.

These tests are wit my work exchange email account.

Really getting silly now but when will Apple fix these issue, 4 updates into the main release and they are more interested in fixing trivial bugs to do with fave time.

Generally unhappy with te Iphone and it just seems as a actually phone to make calls and email, its rubbish.

Apps and fun stuff all good.

Bring back blackberry I say (iphone user for the last 4 years)

I have had this problem since upgrading to iOS 7, but only found out because I BCC myself on an important work email. Ran email account simultaneously on IT Managers iPhone 5s (mine is a 5), my Wife's 4s and my phone was the only one not to send an email!

Visited Apple Genius bar in Bath today and guy said it was probably a firmware issue and told me to run a DFU reset on the phone. I'm pleased to see this thread as he seemed dismissive of the problem and typically the sending emails worked whilst I was there !!!!!!!!!!

Samsung is getting ever more tempting and I've been with Apple since the 3GS.....

I solved the problem yesterday, by trading my iPhone 5 for an LG G2. I got a great deal from Verizon.

Does any of you still have this issue after the 7.0.4 update? Since I updated it a few days ago all my Exchange mails are send correctly. I disabled and enabled my account a few times in between and did not close the mail app. Fingers crossed.

After I put 7.0.4 on my iPhone and iPad, my mail will not send or receive.  It just keeps spinning like it is working, but it never actually does anything.  The only thing I have noticed, is that the battery is draining really fast now.  I tried removing the mail account, from the phone, but it just hangs and never actually deleted the account.  I even erased the phone and started from scratch and I have the same mail problem.  This is a huge issue that needs to get addressed.  I never had this problem 7.0.3.

Apple, please fix the mail issue in 7.0.4!!!

I too have this problem. Deleting the mailbox and reinstalling has not worked.

Basically this means that during the last week while I was not aware of this issue I have sent a number of important client emails that they never received making me look disorganised.

I basically cant use my iphone for work anymore. Ive had to start using my work Blackberry instead.

So, situation is no different to anyone here.  However, I have some other information:

    Firstly I'm running iOS 7.04 on a iPhone 4S.

    - I reset my phone to factory setting and just set up email ONLY (say Exchange).  Guess, what, email started to work great.  I would send a test message to myself from the iphone and it would appear in my inbox instantaneously.

    - Then I hooked the device up and restored my iPhone.  It did the setting, apps, music, etc.  As soon as I did the initial restore (you know, it takes about 5 minutes before the device restarts... before installing the apps/music, etc). I noticed that the email stopped working (ie. I send a test message to myself and it does not appear in my inbox - like what it has done all along).

    - Ok, I thought there may be an app that is corrupting things.  So, I removed all apps via iTunes, backed up the device.  I then put the iPhone back to factory settings.  Again, just setup email and as before, all was working fine.  I then restored the my device (this time without the apps).  Unfortunately, the email went back to it old habits ie. I send a test from the iphone and it does not appear in the inbox.

    - I can say, this problem happens across ALL my email accounts (gmail, exchange, etc).

So, there seems to be something in the base configuration (and not the apps) that is impacting ALL email accounts such that email sent from the iphone does not get delivered or where there is a long delay in the delivery.

Again, this happened ONLY after I upgraded to 7.03 which I have now upgraded to 7.04.  No difference.

I finally got mine working. It turned out to be a message that was causing the problem from my Office 365 account. As soon as I cleared that message from my in is everything started working again. The message was a meeting invitation that I could not reply to.  I never had issues prior to 7.0.4.

Thanks.  However, it does not explain why everything works fine when I do a fresh install but then stops working when I do a restore, even without the apps.

I have an iPhone 4s. My email was working fine after I upgraded to the newer version of ios 7. I started to not be able to receive mails. I could send fine. I am using Comcast email. I deleted the account, twice. I added a secondary Comcast eamil account, that one worked fine. I added a Yahoo email account, that one worked fine. Yesterday I started to receive emails, from a month ago. I depend on my eamils to be able to conduct business. This is crippling.
