Does anyone else see a bright burst of light when using Fingerprint touch i.d?

I noticed for the fist time today that every time I use the Touch I.D. to unlock my phone, there is a bright burst of white light that emits from the upper left corner of the screen as the apps appear on the screen. When I unlock my phone with the numbered key pad, there is no burst of white light. Is anyone seeing the same thing happen? I would hate to have to swap it out.

It seems the flash of white or blue light in the upper corner is related to the layouts of the applications. White background apps like Calender cause it when they are in the upper outer corner. Moving the apps around allows me to adjust the effect from right to left of both. changing locations on one screen also affects other screens. The most reliable trigger for me to see this effect is starting and closing Calculator from the lower screen control panel function (dont know this new feature's name). I did try to replicate the flash on my wife's iPhone 5s 64 (silver) which she got in September and it does not do it. I got the Gold 64 yesterday.

Have you tried putting your backup onto your wife's phone (which in theory should then make your wife's phone suffer the white burst of light phenomenon). Also if you put your wife's backup onto your phone is your phone then ok (no white burst of light). I did the same test (with the two phones), and that was the the result I got, which seemed to prove that the "white light" phone wasn't faulty.

I am now running iOS 7.0.4 on my iPhone 5S. I haven't seen the white light in the top left corner of the screen for a while now.

I wonder if one of the recent updates to iOS addressed this?

I wonder if having just a single app (not a folder) in the top left corner "fixed" it?

I wonder if having just a single app that has a fairly light icon "fixed" it?

Whatever is going on, I have not noticed any light in that corner for a while now and I DEFINITELY did notice it earlier.

Same here. The update did not address the flashing light issue. I'm still resorting to re-positioning the icons. So far, I noticed that the green icons with white centers cause the flashing white light effect (Messages and FaceTime). I also noticed that this effect does not occur when I manually unlock the phone by entering my passcode. It only occurs when using the fingerprint sensor to unlock. Strange.

Well, it appears the issue still exists but careful choosing of the icon that goes in the top left corner is a "fix."

I have the Sirius XM app icon there now. It is mostly white with a bit of blue writing. I guess that is why it appeared the problem had gone away.

Before changing to the Sirius XM icon from a Folder in that location, my experience was similar to epistrophy above. The flash only occurred when I used the fingerprint sensor.

I have been to the Genius bar twice for this problem. Once on my 4s and now on my 5s. The first visit about the white bursts resulted in the determination that it is some letter reflectioin from an app. This happens consistently on several occassions when opening and closing them. I then purchased the new 5s, and to my surprise when I set it up from my back up from the 4s I ended up with the same problem....same white burst in the same area, with the same apps opening and closing. My second visit to the Genius bar resulted in them running a diagnostic test on the phone and they said I was misinformed on my first appointment about the issue, and that it was applications that had glitches and that it also showed the system operation applications also had the same report. They suggested I restore it to factory settings and set it up as a new phone, not restoring it to any of my backups. Then loading each individual app onto the phone. This will take quite some time as I have over 200 apps. Not fun. So far so good. No white bursts on any start up apps. I will post again if I experience any with each app download as to which ones, if any, have it.
