This reply fits exactly the problem on my wife's iPad - update has been outstanding for a long time! So the action I should take is to remove the update from the iPad. However, the instructions on how to remove it don't work on this iPad........'Settings - General - Usage - Manage Storage' doesn't show any update.
Any idea's?
Hi brianfromhayling island. If your iPad has an automatically downloaded update, you should find it in Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > STORAGE Manage Storage. Note that this is the first Manage Storage. It lists the device storage used by all the apps. The update file should be pretty large, so it will be near the top of the list. Tap on it to get the delete option.
What model iPad do you have, and what's your current iOS version?
Thanks for the reply Diana. On this iPad (model MC769B/A - iPad 2), when you go to 'Settings > General'. there isn't a 'Storage & iCloud Usage' but there is a ' Usage' which shows storage and an 'iCloud' which shows storage manager.
But neither show the IOS update.
Oof! This is going to be a huge jump, up to iOS 9.3.5. You should really do this using a computer. You'll need a fairly recent version of the iTunes program, certainly version 12, but I'm not sure exactly which would be the minimum.
I've been following your steps (I get the same exact error message about being connected to the internet). When I go into my usage and manage, it has iOS 10.2.1 listed. Would I follow those same steps in deleting it and checking for updates after that?
Hi Jdguddat. Yes. You can only install the current iOS version for the device, 10.3.2 in your case. The older version downloaded will not be verified by Apple. The message is misleading, since it assumes that verification failure must mean that the internet connection has failed. You need to delete the old download and check for updates again. If you're updating from a much older iOS version, you may need to use iTunes on a computer, particularly if storage is tight. What is your current iOS version, and how much free storage do you have after deleting the old download?
This link: Re: iPad won't update says not connected to Internet to a previous post in this thread may clarify why you cannot find and delete the downloaded file.
Yeah I am having the same exact problem.
Hey guyzz if u dont connect it to a LTE 4g connection or atleast to 3g connection or fast wifi then it will appear always but if a fast connection is connected and still problem prsists then restarting can help maybe
Good to know. Thanks.
I restarted my iPad right after posting to this thread and it seems to be working. Just about done with the install now. Should be fine I think.
Having same problem and restart did not fix it.
Are you on WiFi? Can you access websites using Safari? Are yoir region and timezone settings consistent with your actual location?
I am having the same issue, tried to update at work and at home and neither is working. Tried to power off and power back on, I am able to use Safari and the region/timezone is correct. Any other ideas?
Are you using a VPN, unblocker, or special DNS service? Are you using DNS consistent with your location, likely from your internet provider? It sounds like the updater is failing to connect to the server. Also, be sure your device has enough free storage. 5 gig shoild be plenty.
Not using a VPN, not 100% sure what a DNS service is but I am pretty sure I am not using a DNS service since I don't know what it is. Right now there is 7.8 GB available and 5.7 GB being used so I should have enough free storage.
