Some keys are not working after wake-up following battery depletion

Hello all,

I hope someone will be able to help me, so that he/she would get my eternal gratitude 😉

I've lost the following keys on my Macbook Pro 13" early 2011 keyboard (AZERTY keayboard) : 9, ), ^, o, i, l, £, right shift, return, / and the up and down arrows.

Needless to say this is REALLY annoying.

Nothing happened to my Macbook, I was using it on the battery, then it got depleted and went to sleep. This makes it even more annoying.

When I woke it up after having charged it, I lost a first set of keys.

I tried the PRAM reset procedure, then I thought that maybe letting the battery deplete and waking it up again would solve the problem. I lost more keys instead.

Plugging an USB keyboard works fine, but I don't have a Macbook to carry an USB keyboard around with it.

I have tried the procedure listed here : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1381, without any results.

Using my Snow Leopard Install disc does not work (I only get beeep beeep beeep when I try booting on it), so I installed Lion, hoping that it would fix things. Of course it didn't. Since I was unable to access the Terminal Utility, I tried to type from the Disc Utility booting on the Lion Install Disc, but the keys do not work there either, so it seems it's a hardware failure.

The thing is, as I said earlier, NOTHING AT ALL happened to my Mac except the battery depletion, so I still hope it's a software problem.

Would any of you have an idea, before I completely reset my computer and reinstall Leopard on it with my fingers crossed?

I Been Having This Problem With The Same Exact MacBook Pro Early 2011 Model.I Was Going To Replace The Keyboard But The Keys Work When I Hold Them For A While Which is Still Annoying So The Keyboard Is Still Good. It Works Sometimes And Dosn't When It Wants. I Don't Have Any Warrenty And Its Expensive To Fix. It Is A Hardware Faliure. And I Am Using A USB Keyboard To Type Right Now So Im Thinking On Just Buying A New Laptop. My Laptop Is In Pristine Condition Never Beem Droped (NOTHING) .Hopes This Helps You Out

I never managed to get the keys to work again, but maybe I haven't been holding them long enough.

I have read somewhere that Apple ask for more than 300€ (USD 400) to change the keyboard, so I am considering opening myself my Crapple Crapbook Pro and change it myself.

I am quite ****** actually. A keyboard shouldn't die like this with no reason less than 3 years later. My Powerbook G4 that I used a lot much more than the Macbook is still working fine.
