Q: IMac screen and mouse frozen. How do I release it plse?asking this Q via another device.

On a desktop computer if you have also lost your mouse, a Restart can be done by pressing the start button on the back of the iMac. You may need to hold for 3 seconds or so until it reboots.

I tried switching on and off it didnt help. the mouse cursor won't move but the click function works. Changed batteries twice
