Swipe not working to answer phone

I am having the same problem, I miss almost every call due to this issue. it is very frustrating! I did not experiance this issue with previous iPhones or IOS versions. I recently upgraded to a 5s from a 4s, the 4s was running IOS 7, and did not behave like this... is it a sofware or hardware issue???

Same issue here since 7.0.2 update. 7.0.1 was fine. If you slide above the slider in the center of the screen it will answer. I would say that it's def a software glitch. I'm sure they will fix it on the next update. Funny thing is, I went through the entire beta testing process with IOS 7 and the slide to answer worked perfectly till now. If this is a widespread problem 7.0.3 may be out before we know it. Answering a call is a pretty important funtion for a phone. 🙂

Thank you for the insight. I have tried your suggestion of "swiping" above the slider & it has worked everytime so far!

I also agree with you that answering a call is in deed important, so lets hope this issue gets resolved in the next update.

Try this, if you have your screen covered

With some kind of protector/cover, remove

It and try to answer the call.

I think the issue started with 7.0.2

I have no screen protector on my phone and still have the problem. Tried the mid screen swipe, that didn't work either.

I've had the same problem, I have used the same screen protector since I bought my iPhone 5 and never had this issue until upgrading to ios7.

It doesn't happen all the time but when it does (and it only ever happens when recieving a call, never when just unlocking the phone) I end up frantically swiping across the screen like a lunatic. I have since found that when it happens if I press the volume keys then go back to the 'slide to answer' it works again.

Just the one button, either up or down, a fix I found more through blind panic than any scientific method
