CorelDraw on MBP, YES or NO??

After doing so much research I came upto this conclusion that CorelDraw 11 (the last version for Mac OS) can not be install on MacBook Pro with Intel processor or atleast no one knows exact answer. I myslef tried to install it many times and everytime I could not even complete the installation more then 80% progress. Though I read here many did install but could not run it properly or had trouble opening it. I also read so many "YES"s and "NO"s, so many between "YES"s and "NO"s 😟
CorelDraw is the best graphic program I've ever worked on and dont wanna look for other options when it comes to work on graphic designing.

So whats the conclusion?!
Corel Draw 11 on MBP...YES or NO??!!

Final Answer!!!

It would appear from other threads on the forum that CorelDraw does not work reliably with Tiger and apparently does not work with 10.4.3 or higher. Consequently, it's unlikely it will work on an Intel Mac.

An early incompatibility report also indicated problems with CorelDraw and Rosetta, the PPC emulator it would run through on the Intel Macs.

Seems you might consider looking for a replacement of which there are many. I'm not familiar with CorelDraw, so I'm not sure what to suggest as a replacement. You might do a search at www.versiontracker.com and www.macupdate.com. You can also check at www.freesmug.org and look at their list of universal binaries as well as www.opensourcemac.org.

There's also Adobe Illustrator CS2 which is not a universal binary but does work adequately under Rosetta.

I can't say anything about the MBP, but for my G4 PowerBook, I at last was able to get CorelDraw 11 and RAVE 2 to work in 10.4.7. It turned out that I had lost a default printer when I upgraded to 10.4.7. Please note that I had already done a reinstall including the Service Pack, deleted the preference files, and overwrote the workspace to factory default. Reinstalling the default printer and driver was what finally did it for me. For some reason, the 10.4.7 update left me with no printer.

For more information, and where I found the tip that did it for me, see:

You might find other helpful information there relating to this problem.

I too am a HUGE fan of CorelDraw...but unfortunately, after contacting Corel, they claim to have no plans to continue/support MacOS veresion. So i doubt they will come out with a Mac Intel version 😟 Their excuse was..90%+ of the Corel users out there run it on Windows

The only way I was able to use Corel was via bootcamp and the Windows version.
