Hi,

If you are connected to a Wi-Fi, the wifi icon will appear next to your carriers name. Then you will be using Wi-Fi and not your data contract.

Is that what you mean?

Mine will say AT&T(my service provider) and then my wifi strength, when I'm connected to wifi.
