Did this happen following an update? If so call apple ASAP to look at options. If not also call apple as they may need to help fix something on the device itself.

I updated to IOS7 and then this happened, tried all suggestions and very disappointed that this can't be fixed. My waranty is up so now have a phone that wont enable wifi. Also a big Apple fan and am shocked that it is not being sorted by apple. Service clearly not an issue for Apple anymore.....wow I never thought that I would say that.

That is the os update fault apple forgot to bridge the gap with software to connect to hardware, that's so funny. Almost like saying "how do you like these apples". Knock on wood but technical support never had that issues with Microsoft os updates before.

I had this problem with Iphone 4S of Wi-Fi button greyed out after IOS 7.04 Upgrade. It was not solved by a complete reset and then restoring everything from ITunes. However, it was solved by doing a complete reset and set up as new phone. Wi-Fi is working fine now.

pjb2222 -  same problem on 4s,  BUT while still running 6.1.3.  Phone only 15 months old (long enuf for no warranty).  In varying levels of cleaning up and restoring I did do UG to 7.04 with initially no better nor no worse results.  Is working now, if perhaps temporarily, after long shutdown and sitting in slightly cool place.  On restart and having wi-fi was able to do some more resets and lease renewal and so far working a half day.  I agree with earlier poster that problem was lurking before ios 7 upgrade. Susceptiblity may be greater if ios 7 op conditions produce more heat, but there must be an underlying weakness... esp when ready a bunch of the other treads citing products going back to ios 5, some ipod touches, iphone 3g all having similar seeming "rare" problem.

keep us posted on how well uour 4s wifi is doing.
