Water 'stain' on my screen - inside?

I have what looks like a water stain on (in) my 27" iMac screen - I recently had a new graphics card put in (by Apple) - could something have gone wrong then?

Just took a photo with my iPhone - this is the main part, but there are other small areas that are marked.

Replacing anything inside your iMac requires taking the glass off. If any moisture got in during that process, you may have found your culprit.

If the repair was done at an Apple Retail Store you should take it back there ASAP. This happens time to time and they will most likely fix it for you at no charge especially if the repair in question was recent.

Unfortunately there is no way to easily fix this your self.

I have the exact same problem with my 27" imac and I have never taken it to the apple store or apple care and it is not humid in Southern Cal where we live and we do not smoke. There are 1000's of posts from angry consumers about problems with water like or stain like damage to imac screens. My imac damnage looks like yours: like water was poured down the inside and then dried up. I can only see it on the start up screen and beige type backgrounds...but mine is even more visable than yours. I have not gone to get it repaired as I do not have apple care and it is expensive to replace. The replacement apparently does not matter as the same problem will appear again in months to come.
