5s , Rattly power button and noisy home button

Just recieved my Iphone 5s today and it has a noticable rattle when picking it up which seems to be coming from the power button.

Also the home button is really noisy when pressed.

I see some threads on some phones having one of these issues, I seem to have both.

Anybody else have this , looks like I have a lemon ! , I definetely do not feel this is up to Apple's usual high standards.

I think the home button is probably going to sound different, its a different home button with a sensor in it and a saphire coating, so comparing it to the previous phones is not possible. Mine tbh is not that loud however the rattle on the lock button is awful, I'm not happy with that. If you are unhappy book an appointment or contact Apple and tell them. From what I have read though many people have the rattle on the power/lock button, and it might not be easy to get a unit without that issue at this time, and you could end up with other issues, but only you can decide if its woth trying. I have a feeling though they all do it from reading though the forum. 😟

Yeah, I think my problem with the home button is that is not uniformly noisey , i.e. sometimes it is really loud, like a audiable crack other times it is a soft click (still louder than 5 but ok).

In a meeting i def could not click the home button when its loud without somebody looking at what i am doing (that doesnt seem right).

I might log it with support and wait a few weeks to swap it over and let a few new batches come through.

I have the gold 5S and it makes the rattle in power button. All models make the same rattle. Power buttons seem to be loose. I confirmed this at the apple store yesterday. I checked all the iphone 5S they had and they made the same rattle for the power button. I asked about it and the apple employee told me that it's probably a design flaw and not much can be done if all in stock make the same rattle. I will not be exchanging mine. I'm just going to continue using it and if it stops working then I'll take it in for replacement. Besides this minor issue, the phone works perfectly and power button works perfectly as well. I think Apple's manufacturer is the source of this issue. A relative of mine purchased a new iphone 5 in white and her power button is just as loose as mine and rattles.

I have noticed this too. And it only happens about 40% of the time maybe? It never happens all the time and usually when I am not expecting it. Honestly I though I was crazy because I will do it and it will make that noise and I will question what I just heard. I am hoping it just has a break in period. I never really considered taking it back for the issue.

Apple replaced my phone today.

Same noisy button.

******************** Can't use in meetings **********************

Can't use to record anything either.

Can't surf and use speakerphone.

can't use Skype and other apps.

The caller hears all the clicking.

Going back to 4s. Was silent silent silent

They should recall these !

If we got together to at least make this hit the news.

Apple will have to do a recall.

Shareholders will flip out
