E-mail downloads

I've filled in a form that someone e-mailed to me. When I went to save it I expected it to 'save as' so I could put it somewhere logical, but it just saved it. I now need to e=mail it back but I can't find it when I try and attach it to the e-mail. I can find it in spotlight but this isn't helping. Can someone tell me where my mac would have saved this or can I find it's location from the copy opened in spotlight?
