Software update stalled

I tried to install the latest OSX update and my computer stalled. It should have takeen two minute, but nothing has happened for an hour. How should I restart?

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Well, is it downloaded or still trying, and a network issue?

Do you have a clone and backups of your system and tried Recovery Mode and disk repair and safe boot? ]

I would use Command + R for now, and having bootable backup (Disk Utility RESTORE and target an external drive partition). Change startup and boot off the clone or do a Safe Boot.

See if there is a 10.8.5 combo update to manually download.

Thanks for considering my question. In answer to yours, I still see the progress bar saying two minutes remaining, but it has not moved in a long time. I do not believe it is a network issue. It is a home network through a Time Capsule, and I have net access on other computers. The Time Capsul has a system back-up.

Make sure TimeMachine is current. I recommand Carbon Copy Cloner in addition. Especially before needed and for situations like yours as there is something need of fixing. Whether just Software update cache or with the system.
