That's because downgrading the iOS is NOT supported. Never has been.

You cannot do that. The firmware for iOS 6 is no longer being signed by Apple's system for devices compatible with iOS 7. That is what that error is telling - iOS 6 is no longer recognized as an allowable install on any iOS 7 compatible device.

i don't believe you can do this. i could be wrong but im pretty sure you can't

?? A restore from backup will not over-write iOS. A backup only contains data, not iOS nor Apps.

If you restore from an iOS 6 backup to a device running iOS 7, you will still have iOS 7 after the restore from backup completes.

I will say again and for my last time in this thread, there is NO supported means of downgrading iOS.

That will not return you to a previous version of iOS. Only a previous verison of your data. iOS7 will still be on the device.

There is no way to go back to iOS6.

As for apps crashing, you should check to see if they need updates for iOS7.

Apple should create a IOS6 downgrade for Iphone 4S and Ipad because they became useless after the IOS7 upgrade. It looks like a second class device!
