Why is Messages showing nicknames since updating to iOS 7?

I can't find a setting to fix this. My text messages display the nickname for the person instead of the name. I don't want this. The nickname I have for all my contacts is the family name for X-mas cards. Contacts works so poorly for printing labels that this has been the only way to get the family name (The Johnson Family) to printing labels.

So how can I get my text messages to display name and not nickname. Please help.
