Logic Pro X noise in bounce

When I bounce an audio file in Logic Pro X, there's bad noise in it! Every format has this. I've restarted my computer and that hasn't helped. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm in a pinch!

OK... so I bounced that wav file, right?,... and somehow it "cleared Logic's throat" I guess... now all my mp3 bounces are perfect. No noise! Wow... what a frustrating ride! I have no idea what happened, accept bouncing in wav somehow cleared out the junk for mp3 as well...? Seems to be working great now! Any explanation you guys know of would be helpful. 😝 Otherwise, If I have problems, I'll bounce wav then go back to mp3. Thank you guys so very much for all your help!!

Aiaiaiaiaiaiaiai and ai, your output is clipping. And everything (well, almost everything) can go into the red, with one very unambiguous exception: the main output. Never ever ever overload that. Luckily, the clue to the solution is also there: Lower your fader with 3 dB (the 2.5 shown, plus a bit extra safety margin).

The fact that the guitar is overloading, may contribute. However, all the other mixer channelstrips can handle + 0 dB values without clipping. But as a rule it is better to avoid going into the red anywhere.

1. All your faders are upped too much, you should all drop 'm to at least -6 or -8 dB (consider that as the new "zero" line).

2. Bounce your project with half the tracks muted, noise gone or not?

3. Same with the other half muted (and the first one unmuted again), noise gone or not?

4. If that doesn't yield any clues (but how could it not?) then apply the same method to your plugins (bypass half, bounce, evaluate, bypass other half, bounce, evaluate)

Also, it would really help if you could either: describe the noise in a bit more detail (is it at one point in the track? At several points? Are they the same points with every bounce? Or is it a noise that spans the whole bounce?

Also, is it a hissing noise, or a rumbling noise, or a scratchy noise, or a garbly noise, or crackly noise, or a piercing noise?) or: upload the audio somewhere so Nigel (TAOS) and me (and any others) can have a listen (which is said to say more than half a picture, or five hundred words).

The noises are different on each track, but go for the entire song. I just posted the first few measures of each...

I simplified the first track down to just a short segement of a click track. Export settings are the ones I posted in the pictures. Neither track goes above -8db in Logic, so I dont think its clipping, just some noise I can't figure out where it comes from. It all plays flawless in Logic, just my exports have this trash...

Well, that sounds like (very heavy) digital noise, and I am baffled as to how it can end up there, as bouncing does not involve any audio hardware, so there is no source of digital noise to be added to that file. Also, the fact that you don't hear it on playing back Logic, dumbfounds me. And you get the same result bouncing realtime as well as offline?

What make and type audio-interface do you use?

+1 on Erik's comments... This is somewhat strange to say the least.... and nothing I have ever come across in the manner it is being described at least...

I have heard that sort of noise when levels are all wrong/out of wack... (Low input and high output for example..) but that then would also apply to both normal playback and after bouncing.... and as the OP is stating, it only happens after a bounce, it makes no sense to me at all either....

What happens if you bounce to a 24-bit Wav File.

And.... what sample rate and bit depth are you using?

p.s. Just read the whole thread... looks like you didn't have troubles a few weeks ago and even old projects now have noise. What has changed? Did you update the OS in any way. Do you have OSX set to automatically update?

What it sounds lile to me is timing errors when encoding MP3, like it's actually encoding at a much lower rate. try encoding to wav.

Just a guess, but I think Logic's internal clock was somehow drifting or not "sync locked" to the computer's internal clock. Don't know how this could happen except that wav is working directly with the PCM audio and probably forced the system to sync up. MP3 is a step away from working directly with the recorded PCM audio and possibly could not force Logic back in sync internally. Like I said... only a guess.
