reminder/task on iphone 5

Hello.

I use the reminder app provided by apple on the iphone 5 daily. my question is how do i delete reminders that have been completed, as they are still on the devise and you can click show completed reminders to view. once i complete the reminders/task ... i want them permantly delted. please advise. thanks.
