My iPad is missing - stolen?

I fear my iPad2 has been stolen. I called AppleCare to ask how I search for it by serial #.

I was told to go to iCloud and give serial number in the search area. I do not see anything to do with searce or any other way to do this. I searched online using 'Track stolen iPad'. One site says go to iCloud and go to 'settings'. No settings show at all.

Any other advice?

Hey Harold Coates,

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. The following resources outline the next best steps, including utilizing Find my [Device] if you had previously enabled it:

What to do if your iOS device is lost or stolen

If you are unable to locate your device, follow these steps to report it local law enforcement:

Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product

Thanks,

Matt M.

Shortly after writing about what I thought was my loss I checked the 'Find my iPhone' app on the iMac and low and behold there was my iPad at my home.

I told it to sound off and I found it where my 5 year old Granddaughter had moved it to a room that we have never had the iPad. It was hidden by some pillows and a blanket. That is a good app....
