My iMac won't let me save documents

I work with appleworks. When I go to save a document to my desktop, nothing happens. If I search through spotlight I realize that the document has not been saved elsewhere either. Basically my computer cannot save.

Any help to solve this problem is appreciated.

Hi Ian - does your project show up under files > open recent?

All I can think of is go: AppleWorks > Preferences > Files > see what kind of settings you have here, you might try to 'restore defualts'. I just used my version of AppleWorks and I have successfully saved to my desktop...

You can also try: Spotlight > Disk Utility > Macintosh HD > Verfiy Disk Perms. & Repair Disk Perms. Afterwards, I personally, would restart machine and see how it goes... Good luck, Rick
