Oct 30, 2013 8:22 AM in response to Solarcby Lacer,This issue is maddening! It's not limited to a single app - I have multiple apps that the same thing happens on. It seems to be some application setting somewhere that's driving this. I also attempted disabling the background app refresh setting, but to no avail. I also thought it may be device-specific (i.e., older devices like my 4S), but I see that last year's iPad minis are having the issue.

Oct 30, 2013 9:25 AM in response to Solarcby Solarc,This issue does not seem to be limited to the device. I have Ipad 2, 3, and mini and Iphone 5s and it happens on all of them with the new update. APPLE PLEASE LISTEN AND FIX IT or AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE!!

Nov 2, 2013 10:00 AM in response to Solarcby opelkadet,Yes, all of the apps do it on both my 4s and iPad 2! I hope they'll fix it in an update, this makes the devices unusable for a lot of stuff.

Nov 3, 2013 7:31 AM in response to Solarcby Pouryashamsi,Everything was ok before the ios7.
I updated my 4S and also got a 5s and both have the same issue. Multitasking is available on any phone and we just lost it with ios7!
Having their names there doesn't mean multitasking. I do alot with my phone. I want to check something in one app and do sth in another. But as soon as I switch, they all reset!
Apple, this was the last time I bought anything from you.

Nov 4, 2013 1:48 PM in response to Solarcby Solarc,I just spoke with tech-support about this issue. They did finally admit that they have had a lot of complaints about this problem and are working on it. They advised we should see you solution within the next 1 to 2 updates. Let's hope their on target.

Nov 4, 2013 7:31 PM in response to Solarcby Lacer,Well that's great to hear. I hope they come through quickly with a fix. I just lost my shopping cart when I had to switch to another app for just a minute. And I lost me place in about three separate articles in Safari today.
BTW, how did you end up actually talking to someone about this?

Nov 4, 2013 7:39 PM in response to Solarcby gail from maine,Hi Solarc,
Did you turn off the App Refresh for Safari. Any app that you use on an iOS device that is an internet-based app will be using Safari to connect to the internet. So if you turn off the App Refresh on Safari, the problem should dissappear.
Settings>General>Background App Refresh>Safari = Off
Cheers,
GB

Nov 4, 2013 7:47 PM in response to gail from maineby Solarc,I turned off background refresh before this last update and had no change. I will try again since the last update and see if things are different now. Thanks for the reply.

Nov 4, 2013 9:23 PM in response to gail from maineby Lacer,I have completely disabled Background App Refresh and it still happens to me. I also don't have an option to selectively disable Safari in the list of apps that use background refresh. Regardless, this isn't an issue with background refresh. The web pages / apps refresh in the foreground after they've they've been reselected after only a short time of being in the background.

Nov 4, 2013 10:23 PM in response to Solarcby Globetrotter1979,I am using a newly bought iPad mini as the main device on my 12 month travels and IT IS driving me crazy, costs a lot of time and causes many problems. APPLE: CORRECT THIS ASAP!!! It cannot be that this causes me to buy a netbook to work properly. If it does I switch to Android after all...

Nov 5, 2013 3:21 AM in response to Solarcby sonnacchio,Looking forward to this being corrected by Apple. I use Numbers to keep track of bills, and switch between my little spreadsheet and Safari to balance my bank account. When signed in to my bank and double-tapping between the two they both refresh. It's only when signed in to a secure site that the page refreshes when switching back to Safari and I'm booted out of my account. I then need to log in again. When going back to Numbers, there's an extremely annoying 5 second delay while the spreadsheet refreshes. Neither of these two issues occured until IOS7. Somehow Apple has gone backwards and thrown a wrench into what I think was an almost perfect product - at least for what I use it for. Looking forward to this being fixed ASAP.

Nov 7, 2013 11:38 AM in response to Solarcby bwilliamsdc,Having the same exact problem on my iPhone 4S - can't keep an app open in the background at all - I as soon as I switch back to it, it's like it closed and opens again (erasing any input I had entered, or scrolling to the top of the document as someone above mentioned). EXTREMELY frustrating. My iPhone 3GS on the old iOS has better multitasking.

Nov 7, 2013 12:03 PM in response to Solarcby Solarc,UPDATE: Michael from Apple support called today about this thread and issue. We downloaded the logs and sent them to engineering for review. During the call I was able to consistently duplicate the problem by doing the following steps. Please try these steps and report back here so engineering will know if this is across multiple devices.
Double click home button
Choose any app that is MORE THAN 2 away from current opened app
Did it refresh or send you to top of document?
Now do the same steps except choose an app that is only 2 spaces away on the multitask screen. This will be the first app that is completely out of view to the right when the multitask screen comes up.
Please provide feedback of your findings and device. Please include your IOS version.
