Q: Need Help Updating AMD Driver

I've been looking nearly everywhere for a way to update my drivers. Everywhere I look seem to be giving the answer but that never seems to work for me.

"AMD Radeon HD 6770M" is out of date.

From my limited knowledge about computers, I believe I need it updated to play some of the newer games out on the market.

I am currently running Windows 7 32bit using Bootcamp.

Using http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx and other programs out there, I receive an error every time. It says "AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer."

I've tried nearly everything out there and need help getting my computer updated.

Help is greatly appreciated!

    Hello,

I think Win7 64 bit is needed, & Apple provides the drivers for video...

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5639

Which drivers are included with the OS X Windows Support Software (drivers) download?
The Boot Camp 5.0 software includes these Mac drivers for Windows:

    • Apple Bluetooth
    • Apple Keyboard Support
    • Apple Remote Driver
    • Apple Trackpad
    • Atheros 802.11 Wireless
    • ATI Graphics
    • Boot Camp control panel for Microsoft Windows
    • Boot Camp System Task Notification item (System Tray)
    • Broadcom Wireless
    • Intel Chipset Software
    • Intel Integrated Graphics
    • iSight Camera
    • Marvel Yukon Ethernet
    • nVidia Graphics
    • Cirrus Logic Audio
    • Realtek Audio
    • SigmaTel Audio
    • Startup Disk control panel for Microsoft Windows
    • Thunderbolt
    • USB 3

Which versions of Windows work with Boot Camp 5?
    You can use:

    • Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
    • Microsoft Windows 8 Pro (64-bit)
    • Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
    • Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
    • Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)

Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Enterprise versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8 are not supported.

    I'm using Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit)

I previously had 64-bit but had the exact same problem. My drivers weren't able to update. Everything runs fine except I need my video to be updated and it won't allow me. Same issue with both 64/32 - bit.

Would upgrading to Windows 8 Pro (64 - bit) change anything?

Problem is, Apple needs to provide the updated drivers, no idea if they've done so for Win8, though one might expect them to be newer.

they haven´t done it for w7 and neither for w8. i don´t know when using latest bootcamp when it downloads drivers to install windows, if those are the good ones. i bought battlefield 4 recently, and thanks to this, I can´t run it in lowest settings. anyone knows another solution?

    first, thanks for replying!!

next, my graphics card is an amd hd 6770m. i downloaded 13.9 mobility drivers(they appear on that page) and when going to install it says it can´t, theres an incompatible activator or something like that. actually, i didn´t tryed with 13.11. did you istalled 13.11 directly or did you first uninstall apple bootcamp provided drivers and then install de 13.11? i have an imac mid 2011. similar to yours. also 21,5". thanks!!

I found a solution that worked for me.

    Download the file and install.

    For 64-bit: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/13-12_mobility_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe

    For 32-bit: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/13-12_mobility_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql.exe

When I installed it said it had failed but it worked anyway.

It looked like it had stop in the middle of the installation but be patient, it will continue after a while.

You, sir, are my hero. I've tried downloading every possible driver from their site and this is the first time it actually worked- thank you so much!
