Does someone know why the emails of my "german Gmail account" are not pushed.
I did follow the instruction of Apple and deleted my account and created it again.
Still the push option does not show up ! And therefore does not work.
Any ideas ?

It's really strange. I can enable push on my iPad 4th generation after er-adding the mail account. But with my iPhone 5S and my iPad mini it is not possible. There is no push option available in the settings menu.
I had the same problem. My solution: encrpyted backup with itunes - delete the iphone and restore the backup. Then the push-service is running. (http://www.silvioweiss.de/?p=457)

Gmail does not support push email.
Now all my iOS devices are working and receive push mails. I had to do a full reset and then a restore of the iTunes backup. Then there was still no push option, but now after deleting an re-adding the account everything was fine.
The probleme is back again. With upgrading to Mavericks and the Server App Version 3, I cannot select the push option on my iOS devices anymore.
