Updated to ios7 and now my iphone 4 is cripple. can I go back to the previous ios6. Or any suggestions for fixing the slowness

Have you tried reset? Restore? to help with the issues.
I did a reset and it helped a little but not much. I have a back up on a old computer that has IOS 5.1.1. Would you recommend going back using the old back?
You cannot go back.
It will ALWAYS restore to the latest available software version.

I think I will pull out the old computer with an older version of itunes and my older backups and restore from there. I hoping it works. Thanks so much for the help
That will not work. All that will probably happen is that the older iTunes will not sync to the iPhone at all. If it does sync, it will still only restore the most current version of iOS, 7.0.2. As has been said, there is no way to downgrade iOS.
ios 7.0 firmware is still available on other sites, 6.1.3 is not signed, Apple does not condone rolling back therefore you won't get an answer about that on these boards. It is possible, but you need to go elsewhere to get the information.
I can't say how disgusted I am with Apple for letting this happening.
Similar to iPad 1, they should have restricted iPhone4 devices from upgrading to 7. The phone becomes slow and unusable, like running Windows Vista on a Pentium 4.
It's effectively bricked my spare phone, the iPhone 4, and given Apple's reluctance to stand up and deliver what they are professionally responsible for, one can only conclude investigate of other brands is a fair, and deserved result.
Again Apple, I can't communicate effectively with words how pathetically amateur your efforts are at software delivery and technical support for existing customers. You should have known iPhone 4 would not have run well with iOS7, and you should now have allowed it.

I see I'm not alone. IOS7 ***** on the iphone 4.
In order to get it IOS7 off I had to take a lost on some pictures, contacts, notes and a few other things on my Iphone 4 by restoring the phone thru a complete reset as if I just took it out the box.
When I connected to itunes it asked if i wanted to setup a new phone or restore from a backup. I restored from a back up from Sept 2012. It only had IOS 5.1.1. I'm happy I got rid of IOS 7 on the iphone 4 but now the only replacement device I have is a 3gs.
My Iphone 4s got completely destroyed. I didn't want to purchase a 5 or 5s because every accessory I have won't be compatible unless i buy that adapter and I hear it doesn't work with all accessories.

I'm so disappointed. APPLE ANYTHING IS NOT CHEAP! I can't get my 4s back to its glory prior to IOS7.
I'm moving forward with investigating other devices for a replacement. Samsung is looking pretty good!
