iPhone, Latest OS, some text baloons blue

Some Text Messages have white text / blue baloon; some white text / green baloon. blue baloons say "delivered". green baloons are also delivered. What's the difference ??

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.2, Blue Text Messages say "delivered".

Blue balloons use Apple's iMessage, while green ones use your cellular carrier's SMS.
