Very confused.

OK I installed a brand now 1 TB drive to my Macbook Pro. It is the 13 inch, mid 2009, and is running OS X 10.8.5.

I tried to use boot camp, and tried to do what it said about the drives and windows 7. However I am trying to do Windows 8 as that is the only Full Retail I have and not an upgrade. It is 64 bit. Boot Camp Asst. still shows 7. I tried to do it and it said to insert the Windows disk and rejected it because it was 8 and not 7. I just created an ISO image on my Windows computer and was going to copy it to the flash drive that has the boot camp 5 and Windows drivers that I downloaded from the Apple area. SO... Ok I have this stuff... what do I do and where do I go because since I could not use Boot Camp on the Mac, I am not sure what to do next. Could someone PLEASE point out to me what I need to do.

Thank you so much.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

The Mid 2009 MacBook Pro is not supported in Windows 8 by Apple, so you can install it but you won't be able to install the drivers needed to make Windows 8 work correctly. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Get Windows 7 and follow Apple's steps to install Windows > http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf You have to download the Boot Camp 4 drivers > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630

OK this has been crazy. I was told that I could install 7 or 8 on here. There are even videos on line for this to be done. So now I am finding out I can not do this.

Ok here is my problem. I am this 2009 Macbook Pro 13. The only versions of Windows I have are....

Full Retail of Vista Ultimate.

Upgrade of 7 Pro

and Windows 8 Pro.

So with my set up, (I had been told I could NOT put Vista on it) but that chart says I can. IF I install Vista, then can I upgrade to 7. Or do I have to buy a Brand New Full Retail of 7? And with the new MAC OS coming out, WIll I be able to put 8 on here or am I just screwed? If I can not do this, I am getting rid of the Mac. I use Windows more then the Mac stuff.

yep, that didn't work either. So basically, in order for me to use this Macbook with bootcamp is buy Windows 7. Plan and simple. To go back, in OS to use Vista, I maybe not be able to upgrade to 7. Where I am right now with Mountain Lion, I can't use Vista. And I can not use 8. So the 2 Full Retails I have, I can not use.

Well thanks for all your help. I either go get a Retail copy of 7 or just scew the whole idea.

OK thanks everyone.

Very confused.
