Adding modern WS monitor.......

Good evening.

Is it as simple as just plugging it in?

Will I get a true WS output (not just a stretched out standard screen)?

Thanks for your time

It should. I used a ViewSonic WS for years on my 17-inch PBG4 and the PB auto-detected the monitor and its availa resolutions and displayed teh normally.

I used the Apple DVI > VGA adaptor that came with a MacBook Pro but, if your monitor has DVI, results should be the samew without an adaptor.

Rememebr that the external monitor must be connected and turned ON before you turn on the PowerBook for the external to be recognized.
