I was working in Microsoft word and my MacBook completely froze. Couldn't do a thing. I couldn't even force quit word. The bar froze when I tried to get into any other app. So I used the power button to force shut it down. Now I've tried turning it back on and it sticks on the gray screen with apple logo and the loading circle bars. I've never had problems with this MacBook before. Please help.

Try to open the force quit window and relaunch finder and then force quit word

just curious, do you by any chance download lots of files online? my girlfriend is having a similar problem, i am thinking she might have gotten a virus from her little sister downloading stuff on her macbook, but i see your problem is similar, so im just trying to compare. thanks, and hope you get this resolved!
