imovie crashed

I know many others have already expressed similar problems as I am going to but it seems like the forum is still lacking an answer from Apple regarding this issue -- I was completely done with my iMovie project which took me days to complete and when I went to play it iMovie crashed. I can no longer open the iMovie file although I see that all the files are still there - including the project file.

I have tried everything that I can find in the forum - deleting the playlist files, trying to load the files on to a different user profile, trying to load the files on to a different computer, trying to open the project file into FCP, I've even tryied opening the "Project" file within the .rcproject file by showing the package contents and attempting to understand the XML - all with no luck. I have even taken my issues to the Mac Store - where they said that my best chance at solving this was the forums - so here I am.

OS X 10.8.4

iMovie 9.0.9

Any one have any ideas.

Given everything that I have read I think that my only hope might be reading the XML and seeing is there is an issue but the XML is very hard to read as the tags really dont provide any meaning - can anyone provide any insight?

Here is a snipet of the error message I get when I attempt to import the file into FCP - which causes FCP to create this error message and fail.
