How to find the Shared Hard Drive that's connected via USB to an AirPort Extream

I just installed an external hard drive to the USB port on my AirPort Extream (5th Gen). It's all set up correctly in the AirPort Utility, but I can't find directions on how to find that shared HD on my Windows XP PC. I've found the below, but not sure if that's correct.... and if so.... I still have questions which are bolded.

1. Open My Computer

2. Click on Tools - Map Network Drive

3. Choose the drive letter (Z drive or any open drive, right?)

4. Type in the location like this \\IPAddress\name of shared/external drive (where do you find the "IP address" and the "name" of the shared/external drive?)

5. Enter password if prompted.

6. Drive should now show up under My Computer

Additionally, can you access that shared drive from an iPad? If so how do you do that? Is there an App needed?

Thanks in advance for the direction.

Correct!

The default IP address of your AirPort Extreme base station is: 10.0.1.1. You can also substitute the AirPort's Base Station Name for the IP address. The "name" of the shared drive is what you named it in the AirPort Utility.

In the image below, the base station name is "AEBSn" and the shared drive's name is: Patriot. So, in this case, you would enter: \\AEBSn\Patriot

Yes, and yes. One such app is FileBrowser.
