Are they Apple certified? iOS 7 will not work with uncertified peripeherals.
think apple are the only ones who make composite cables to pin30
at any rate both my composite and my componet cables have the same problem only audio even when playing with the apps which support tvout
Tengo un iphone 4s, adicional a eso, tengo los audifonos del iphone 5, pero estos no funcionan correctamente, los audifonos son originales, el funcionamiento erroneo se debe a la actualizacion del IOS7?????
QUe solicion existe?
Similar issue but not quite....I have a iPhone 4S and and original iPad (1). I use the composite cable to play video in my in car dash system (MTF). YouTube, Netflix and any Apple Video apps work fine on the iPad because it's running 5.01 (last available iOS version for original iPad).
On the 4S, however, can only get Apple video apps and the latest Netflix software to play video. You Tube (and other apps like Crackle) are audio only. Haven't tried all other video apps (ESPN, cable company app, etc.) mainly due to poor video stability over 3G.
My biggest concern is what happened to YouTube....not sure if this is an iOS issue, a YouTube issue or what?
It would be nice to find out where I should be directing the support request.
your issue is likely that
there used to be tvout which the apps had to be programmed to support
then it was pretty much repleaced by airplay mirror which worked with all programs unless they were programmed to block it think mirror made many apps stop support for the old type of tvout
problem is airplay mirror only works with hdmi and vga not composite and component as those 2 std's can't display as high a resolution as the ios devices run so they can't mirror the screen
Same problem here. I used to use my old iPhone 4 with the apple component cable to watch TV series that I bought on iTunes too. Now all those purchases are worthless and I have not purchased the latest season pass because of this issue.
I wish they would just offer the ability to go back to iOS 6.
Either that or refund the cost of the cable and iTunes movies and videos I bought in high res to watch on the TV through the expensive component cable.
either that or an update to 7.0.4 which would make component and composite cables work again huh ?
The AirPlay explanation seems feasible except for one glaring problem with Apple's logic.....not every scenario involves the POSSIBILITY of AirPlay. There is nothing available in the factory built in-dash video system in my vehicle that would enable AirPlay mirroring!!!! I cannot by an Apple TV for the car.....and there certainly is not any native support of AirPlay. So, if the AirPlay explanation is true, it would be painfully short-sighted on Apple's behalf.
BTW....another thread on a similar concern confirmed that these cables have a chipset that are likely where the signal is getting blocked, which further supports the likelyhood of the AirPlay theory....guess I know where to send my support request.
