Is it safe to do banking online with iPad

Hi can anyone advise me on internet banking I am using my iPad in Thailand and I have thai bank and want to do my banking online is it safe I'm on wifi in hotel and I am using VPN and https on Safari

Any advise is welcome

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular (MM), iOS 7.0.2

It would depend on both the app and the network.

I personally would not do any financial transaction over any public wifi network of any kind.

I do have the app from my bank on my iPad, and pay bills from it.
