iPhone still linked to old Apple ID

Hello,

I had an iPhone 4S which I sold to one of my friends, apparently the iPhone was linked to my Apple ID through "Find my iPhone".

A few days ago my friend upgraded to iOS7.02 and when the phone booted we see on the screen the following message:

"This iPhone is currently linked to an Apple ID (s*****@w*****.com). Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPhone"

Unfortunately this is a very old account which I don't use anymore and don't know the password for that account, but when I signed in to

http://www.icloud.com/find with my new Apple ID. I saw the iphone 4S under that accout and followed the manual to remove it so it

won't be linked to my account.

I have been waiting and also tried to restore the iPhone, still it asks for the old Apple ID...

What I can do to remove it and restore the iPhone?

Thank you in advanced.

Sharon

I'm going to be honest with you FelipeV. I get that it must be frustrating having to deal with other people's issues and not actually having any sort of solution for them, but you are dealing with it in an incredibly rude way, if you are the tech support guy for this website I suggest they maybe hire someone else? Someone a little less sarcastic and rude and with a little more patience?

If you don't have anything useful to say that can actually help and are just repeating yourself constantly with a different snide remark attached to every comment, maybe just stop replying to people and get a new job that isn't in the service industry, or just try shutting up? That would be lovely!

Thanks!

A customer that is sick of your snarky replies.

My question was the same as everyone else's, which is why I am on this thread.... I just got sick of your responses and that hasn't changed. You're just as rude as ever. I understand that the answer is not the one I want which is why I did not ask the question. I just thought someone ought to say something about your responses.

Maybe make you reassess your approach?

You're not the customer of anyone in this thread. Had you read the Terms of Use to which you agreed when you signed up, you would know that we are all your fellow users.

iOS 7 has a security feature that if someone "steals" your phone and tries to restore it with a new ID, you will need the previous ID in order to proceed. This makes the phone pretty much a "brick"

You will need to enter your old ID and password. If you cannot remember your old ID and password, you will need to contact Support and have it reset:

here is more info on the iOS7 Apple ID activation lock:

I'm having the same problem, except I KNOW my Apple ID. When I type it in my phone just reloads the same screen. Then I tried the wrong password on purpose and it stopped me saying "invalid Username or password". Then after entering the right password several times it takes me to a screen that says "Your iPhone could not be activated because activation server is temporarily unavailable..." My iPhone has been useless for almost two days now.
