My iPhone keyboard only shows upper case letters even when typing in lower case. How do I get the lower case view back?

After updating my operating system, my keyboard stopped showing lower case letters - it always looks like it's typing in upper case. I want it to go back to looking like a lower case/upper case keyboard when I toggle, so that I know what I'm typing. I've already tried restarting the phone, but it just looks the same.

How do I restore the lower/upper case keyboard views?

Thanks!
