Deleted mail icon

i have accidently deleted the mail icon from the dock on my imac(OS X 10.5.8). I have looked in applications but 'mail' is not there. I have looked in applications using Timemachine but cannot find it there either. any help gratefully received..

I fixed this. I just went back further and further in Timemachine and eventually found the Mail app in the App folder - for some reason it had been deleted from there about a year back..
