Superscripts in Charts in Numbers

Hello,

As a science student, graphing plays a huge importance in the organization of a report. That being said, I am really struggling trying to get Numbers to work.

I have 2 main problems currently:

1) I need to create error bars for my data, however each data point has a different set of Standard Error Values, I've read the manual and searched the discussions but to no avail for my situation.

2) Axes needs to include units which have a superscript, however it seems practically impossible to get the superscrift funtion to work in a label.

Help, please!

Hi Kelly,

The value axis label shown is taken from the column heading on the Y value column in the table. This is normally displayed below the table as the Legend. It has been rotated 90° and dragged into the displayed position.

The superscript 3 is a Unicode character "superscript three" dragged from the Character Viewer to the table's entry bar to enter it into the cell on the table.

The character was found by selecting the numeral 3, then opening the Character Viewer from the Input menu (shows as a flag corresponding to your current keyboard layout). Drag and drop the 'related character' that is highlighted onto the entry bar of the table, and if necessary, edit the string to put it in the correct position (My edit consisted of deleting the 3 I had put there to initiate the search).

To show the Input menu in the menu bar, go to Apple (menu) > System Preferences > Language and Text > Input Sources and check the box near the bottom of the open pane.

Barry
