I read on one of these discussions that a Logitech webcam C615 is compatible with my iMac OSX 10.8.5 so I bought one online only to discover after it was delivered that it does not work. Does anyone know how I can make it work on my iMac?

Logitech provide software for Mac OSX 10.5 and 10.6 on their website. Your profile says that you use 10.6.7, so the camera is compatible.
Download the software (unless your profile is wrong)
