I have 2 AppleTV's that we use for lobby loops. Both were connected to an iCloud Photo Stream that a small group of people could provide updates to with a commonly known Apple ID. Since the latest update both systems revert to the National Geographic photo group instead of the iCloud Photo Stream. We've logged out of the accounts, reset the device, logged back in, slected another screensaver the reselected the Photo Stream and they fail to remember that the Photo Stream is the selected screensaver content. After power up and the screensaver delay the National Geographic photo group is displayed, not the Photo Stream group. Anyone else run into this and find a fix?

I have the same problem, and while I do not have a solution I can add the resetting the Apple TV and starting again from scratch does not solve the problem. I also note that selecting the screen saver preview does work correctly.

You are correct, that is the most reliable way of getting my Photo Stream to play non-stop, reconfirm selection then use preview.

I've had mixed results on selecting the preview function to confirm the proper playback was selected, unfortunately I'm not around to test it today. If I power up or reboot the unit and immediately try the screen preview I'm pretty certain it plays the National Geographic picture stream, if I reconfirm that I have selected my Photo Stream then try the preview function then it play the Photo Stream.

    Hi westinmylifeaway,

Same setup for us as well and same problem - did you come across a solution?

    Thanks!

Not yet. We are still manually selecting the Photo Stream when the AppleTVs are powered down and restarted. It doesn't require much interaction since we changed the power connection to an always on source.

Thanks westin...we're doing the same for now.  Hopefully something Apple will address in the next release.  I think lots of folks are using them this way.  Between that and 'Conference Room Mode' the ATV is a nice interface for this sort of thing.

I have never had Photo Stream work relibalby.  Your best bet is to turn on home sharing and have it connect to iTunes somewhere and configure it to point at a folder with the pictures you want to display.

Is there anyway to just delete these photos so that they do not show up as an option? I only care to see my photo stream so I don't mind losing these other options.

Its very frustrating to say the least when a piece of equipment does not do as you wanted...

If you are suggesting deleting the other screen saver options then no, you cannot make changes to the default screen saver list.

On a positive note our AppleTVs are working correctly again, the Photo Stream screen saver is the default after power up. I'm not sure if the last update fixed the problem or after repeated attempts the preference finally stuck.

    hi,

we've the same setup on our side.

everything works fine until we updated our apple tv one week ago.

first our apple tv's lost their regional settings, we set them up again

now after rebooting the apple tv's, they're not longer connect to our icloud foto stream

just by manually starting preview they're going to connect

Just adding that we have the same issue since the last big update and only on one of my Apple TV's.

Same issue here. Seems as if the latest update broke the screensaver functionality for iCloud.

Alright, found a combo of steps that worked for us.  After the newest update, sign out of iCloud, sign back in, select an iCloud album for the screensaver, preview it and wait as long as it takes for the spinning icon to load the photos.  Good luck.

    @Michele Gardner

sorry, this fix doesn't work on our side.

connection is only possible until the next unit reboot.
