Interaction with PC servers

I'm the only Mac user in my organization. There are more than 20 Windows based terminal interconected to a PC server, and we share the same email system. The system is based in Microsoft Outlook, so I was working perfectly through my old PowerBook G4 (Titanium) using Outlook 2001 for Macintosh. Now, I convinced my boss to buy a new MacBook Pro (Intel) for me, and MS Outlook for Mac doesn't work with the new processor (because doesn't accept Classic OS). I tryied MS Entourage, but is to slow. So I went on with Mail, and it works better for the email account (better than Entourage) but still lower than Outlook 2001 for Mac.

Also, there are a lot of thinks in the public folders I have not access, nor the Office Planner we use here as company.

Bottom line, my new Mac is faster, but too much limited to work in this system.

How I can keep my new Mac and be "normaly" connected, as it was with the Titanium?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.6), PowerBook G4
